BTS Member Jin’s Running Man TV Show Postponed, J-Hope Removes Halloween Post After Itaewon Stampede Tragedy Kills 151

It’s a sad day for Korea. Last night, a terrible tragedy happened in Itaewon where people went to celebrate Halloween. There was a stampede that left 151 dead and nearly 200 injured. Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol has announced national mourning until November 5. The broadcast of all entertainment events has been postponed. Big Hit Music has announced that the Stationhead Listening Party for Astronaut has been cancelled. They also postponed the release of the Lyric Video. This is understandable given the wave of grief in the country. The sad thing is that the people who died are mostly teenagers or people in their twenties.

BTS member JHope posted a fun Halloween message but deleted it after the news broke. All entertainment shows have been stopped. It appears that a crowd of 100,000 gathered in a narrow alley in Seoul’s Itaewon district. The locality which is a hub for locals and foreigners alike is known for Halloween parties. A number of people went there in disguise. It is unclear what exactly triggered the stampede. Now survivors are sharing chilling details about the unfolding tragedy.

BTS member Jin has yet to return to Korea from Argentina. He played with Coldplay at the stadium in Buenos Aires. The singer gave an emotional performance in front of a large crowd. Halloween is a big event in the K-Pop industry. We have parties organized by agencies where idols perform in costumes. This is the second terrible tragedy in Korea where young people have lost their lives. The Seoul ferry tragedy is one of the worst involving young people.
