Greybull Boys 2021 Basketball Wrap [VIDEO]

The Greybull boys’ basketball team certainly struggled in the regular season, but in the 2A West Regional Tournament, the Buffaloes won the only game that would determine whether they would make the State Night Tournament. In this first round of regional. Greybull beat Shoshoni 49-40 to hit his ticket for Casper. The Buffs were the No. 4 seed in the West to head to the State Tournament.

In the quarterfinals at State, Greybull faced Sundance and it was a tough afternoon for the Buffaloes who suffered a 55-36 loss. Jesus Hernandez was the only double-digit Greybull player with 10 with Cody Henderson in 9.

In the consolation round, Greybull lost to Big Horn 47-40 to end the season 7-15. Hernandez had 15 and Carlos Rodriguez had 9. Hernandez was named the Conference Star averaging 10 points and 7 rebounds per game. Rodriguez averaged 5 points and 5 rebounds per game and was also an all-conference pick.

Hernandez was a senior so the Buffaloes will miss him, but Rodriguez was a freshman. The program has taken a big step forward by qualifying for the state tournament for the first time since 2016. The question is whether this progress can be sustained. We have a short video to share with you on Team Greybull in the State Tournament. Enjoy!
