About Bob Davidson: Davidson, a 1955 graduate of High Point College, is the Panthers’ longest serving coach in High Point history, leading the men’s and later women’s cross country and track program for 39 seasons from 1962 to 2001. He was honored as Coach of the Year 21 times in three conferences. HPU cross country teams have won 18 conference championships, while track and field programs have won 14 conference and division titles under Davidson’s tutelage.

About Bill Webb: Webb earned his bachelor’s degree in physical education from HPU in 1971. As a member of the track team, Webb was an all-conference selection, team captain, and school record holder. He is a member of the US Track & Field and Cross-Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Hall of Fame. Webb had a nearly 40-year career as a college coach, culminating with 24 years at Tennessee — the first 10 as an assistant coach before his last 14 as a head coach. He retired in 2009. Webb’s seasons as Tennessee’s head coach produced many of the program’s proudest moments, including two NCAA and four SEC tag team championships. He became the first coach in Vol history to win back-to-back NCAA titles after following the NCAA outdoor crown in 2001 with the NCAA indoor championship in 2002. Webb was an assistant coach for the national crown of Tennessee in 1991.
