INKS PRODUCED AS IS WOMEN’S GOLF PROGRAM FOR THE 2023 CAMPAIGN
INDIANAPOLIS – The IUPUI Women’s Golf Program and Head Coach Jamie Broce announced the signing of a product in good condition Sami Lawrence (Newburgh, Indiana/Castle) to a national letter of intent to join the Jaguars program, starting in the fall. A multi-sport athlete, Sami excelled at Castle High School and is the Jaguars’ first signing for the 2023 campaign.
“Sami is an incredible young woman. She’s a volleyball player turned golfer and she’s a tremendous athlete,” Broce said. “She has improved exponentially over the past two years. She has an infectious personality and will have a big impact on the team and her teammates.”
She helped Castle finish second in the IHSAA this fall on a streak of three straight state finals appearances. She helped Castle finish fourth in the 2021 State Finals. Individually, she was named to the ICGSA Academic All-State Team after her senior season and an honorable mention Academic All-State Award from the ‘IHSGCA. She played first-team All-Conference twice and earned second-team honors in her sophomore season. Additionally, she has won the Kiwanis Mental Attitude Award as a second and senior and has been invited to participate in the Yestingsmeier Cup tournament for the past three years.
Academically, she has been a member of the National Honor Society for two years and collected Scholastic Academic Letters each of her four years. She intends to major in Biology at IUPUI.
