LCSO detonates methamphetamine after traffic stop

LIBERTY COUNTY, Fla. (WCTV) – The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office on Tuesday arrested a man on charges of robbery and methamphetamine trafficking, among other things, following a car chase.

Daniel Foster was arrested and charged with motor vehicle robbery, flight or attempted escape, non-violent resistance, trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell, possession of paraphernalia and driving with a suspended license.

While an LCSO deputy was on patrol, she observed an unknown vehicle in a house where known drug activity had occurred. After passing the license plate through LCSO dispatch, the deputy discovered that the vehicle had been reported stolen from Jackson Co.

Additional deputies arrived at the scene and set up surveillance and waited for the vehicle to leave the residence, the LCSO said. MPs watched the vehicle leave the house and attempted a traffic stop. The vehicle fled and a short chase ensued.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Foster, abruptly stopped the vehicle and then fled holding a black backpack. Foster dropped the backpack while fleeing MPs, according to the LCSO.

MPs watched Foster run behind a house, then briefly lost sight of him. Foster was eventually found hiding in the bushes. He was taken into custody without further incident. While searching for Foster, MPs discovered about $ 2,500 on his person.
