Main Street in Danbury is a Christmas story in its own right

It’s the most wonderful time of year and no place feels better at Christmas than Main Street.

There is something charming about the buildings, decorations and streets that give Danbury an ambiance like no other town in the region. It’s like stepping back in time to see Christmas from decades ago, but with the modern issues of the day.

A Christmas Story + Photos from Main Street in Danbury 2021

It’s Christmas, so I had to make it to Danbury, at least a little bit to capture the vibe of the streets. It has become kind of a tradition for me to photograph Danbury around Christmas and watch it as if I were creating a time capsule for that year.

The night I decided to go out this year it was sub zero and windy as you have read. Believe it or not, there has been an ‘incident’ and I’ll tell some of the rambling history as you enjoy my Christmas photo of Main Street Danbury for 2021.

In 2020 I went all out and created three XMAS exhibits at Danbury, but this year I didn’t feel it. This year, 2021 Main Street is all you get. I will catch up with him with an XMAS display article in 2022.

PS My meeting wasn’t the only thing that pissed me off. I needed to turn around on Main Street and head north again, so I pulled into a driveway and saw this sign.

In case you can’t read it, it says, “No bends in the aisle”. I hope you are joking? The nerve of these people, who do you think you are? Is it even enforceable? What are we doing here?

PS 2 – Apparently Christmas is just a word? When did it happen?

It’s that time of year when the media inundates you with a bragging list of all the work they’ve done during the year. In December, everyone runs out of ideas anyway. It’s a bit like that. The following are photos I took from Danbury, CT for stories I wrote about Hat City in 2021.
