Mansbach ’24 leads men’s athletics at Utica Invitational
Hamilton College Bram Mansbach ’24 was part of two event wins for the Continentals at the 2022 Utica College Blue and Orange Invitational at the Hutton Sports & Recreation Center on Saturday.
Hamilton finished in sixth place out of 14 teams that scored a point with 40. SUNY Brockport edged Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute by 3.5 points for the team title with 117.
Mansbach won the men’s mile race with a time of 4:22.65 which qualified him for the Atlantic Area Athletic Conference (AARTFC) indoor championships. He also anchored the winning medley distance relay which posted a time of 10:56.60. Scott Levy ’25, Rasikh Shaukat ’25 and George Brady ’23 joined Mansbach on this relay.
Brady was fourth in the mile (4:25.89) and Brogan Deem-Ranzetta ’24 finished in eighth place (4:39.37). Deem-Ranzetta also took ninth place in the 800 meters (2:06.95).
The Continentals had four athletes qualified for the AARTFC Indoor Meet in the 3,000 meter race. Andrew Harrel ’23 paved the way for sixth place (8:35.26), James Gallagher ’24 was ninth (8:41.42), Max Steffey ’22 was right behind in 11and place (8:43.81), and AJ Zuckerman ’23 completed the group in 16and place (8:49.67). Nick Lyons ’22 took third place in the 5,000 meters with a time of 15:30.43.
Hamilton competes in the Ithaca College Bomber Invitational on Saturday, February 5 starting at 10 a.m.
