Peterson, Gigstead and Hanson inducted into the Perham Athletic Hall of Fame this Friday

Three notable Perham personalities will be inducted into the Track and Field Hall of Fame Friday night at halftime of the Yellowjackets football game against Detroit Lakes.

Jim Peterson, Brittany Gigstead and Hans Hanson have left their mark on Perham and will now have their legacy listed among the other big names in Yellowjacket.

Peterson was a three sports athlete and graduated in 1984. He played on the defensive end of the football field, wrestled and managed the hot corner for the baseball team.

Gigstead graduated in 2007 after earning a plethora of running accolades. She has been described as a great leader by her teammates and superiors in running and basketball.

From 1994 to 2016, Hanson coached baseball and basketball. His duties as head coach for the baseball team began in 1998, when he led the women’s basketball team from 2003 to 2007.
