River Hawks Adds Depth With Seven New Team Members

LOWELL, Mass .– UMass Lowell Head Softball Coach Jen starek announced the addition of seven newcomers to the River Hawk team ahead of the Spring 2022 campaign.

Starek’s inaugural class for his first season as head of the River Hawk program consists of five freshmen and two sophomore transfers from New Haven University. They are teaming up with 13 returning River Hawks in hopes of putting on a quality performance as play is set to begin in early February.

As a freshman (in New Haven): Achieved Academic Distinction (Fall 2020) and Academic Honors (Spring 2021) on the Northeast 10 Academic Honor Roll… named to New Haven Dean’s List after Fall Semester… played in 28 games, starting in 26… finished his rookie campaign with 18 hits and a 0.209 batting average… three doubles, nine runs batted in and seven runs scored… went on a seven-game hitting streak.
