Suspect pleads not guilty to hitting man ‘multiple times’ in Jack in the Box drive-thru
PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. (TCD) — A 22-year-old faces murder charges after he allegedly ran over a man in the Jack in the Box drive-thru queue, which prosecutors say could have been a case of misdirection ‘identity.
According to a statementThe Pierce County Sheriff’s Department has received a call regarding a vehicle-pedestrian collision at the fast food restaurant located at 20505 Mountain Highway E. multiple times.”
Central Pierce Fire officials and Pierce County Sheriff’s Department deputies arrived at the Jack in the Box to provide assistance, but the 68-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspect reportedly fled the scene in a white 2007 Chrysler Pacifica.
On March 1, the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said they located the vehicle and the suspect. According to KOMO-TV, the suspect has been identified as Christian Dressel and the victim is David Brown.
KCPQ-TV reports Brown was run over three times. According to court documents cited by KCPQ, Dressel allegedly entered the drive-thru lane just behind Brown and his wife Sheri and hit their car three times.
Brown and his wife reportedly got out of the car and Brown walked over to Dressel, who started yelling at Sheri. She would have noticed that her husband was under Dressel’s car.
Dressel allegedly yelled at Sheri, “Tell your fucking boyfriend to stay away from my girlfriend.”
sergeant. Darren Moss said: “That’s when the driver spun his wheels and ran over the victim. At that point – it was one thing to run over him – but he decided to get away. stop and reverse before starting again.”
KCPQ reports that investigators suspect Dressel followed Brown’s car because he saw a similar vehicle outside his girlfriend’s house.
According to KOMO, David and Sheri Brown have been a couple since high school.
