Texas man found holding gun as he slept in moving car with several thousand fentanyl pills: police

A Texas man in possession of several thousand fentanyl pills has been arrested in El Paso, TXafter officers found him asleep at the wheel of his car while holding a gun, police say.

Jevshua Muniz, 35, faces charges of manufacturing or delivering a controlled substance and unlawfully carrying a weapon.

He was reportedly found asleep in his car facing traffic in east El Paso around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night.

Officers woke him up and searched his car, where they found fentanyl pills.

Police seized several thousand fentanyl pills along with cash and a handgun.

Footage released by the El Paso Police Department showed cash and thousands of fentanyl pills in more than a dozen plastic bags.

Muniz is being held at the El Paso County Detention Center on a combined basis Bond of $202,000.
