Two Minot High athletes sign for St. Cloud State

MINOT, ND (KMOT) – Minot High seniors JJ Dufner and Mikkail Nehring signed Monday to continue their academic and athletic careers at St. Cloud State.

JJ will play on the Huskies men’s soccer team while Mikkail will compete on the track team.

Mikkail was manager of the Majettes volleyball team this season after tearing her ACL, MCL and meniscus last year.

“To be honest, I didn’t even think I was good enough to race at Saint-Cloud. I sent the email anyway, took the tour anyway and it worked. I think that’s my advice. Take every chance you can and trust the process, Mikkail said.

Mikkail said she would compete in the hurdles and triple jump events.

JJ was the last line of defense for the Magicians football team this fall. The team set the record for fewest goals against in a season.

“Football is so different. You have to go after every college. They really don’t come after you that hard. You have to email so many colleges. I spent so much time traveling through the country to end up in Minnesota, JJ said.

JJ said he will study management at SCSU.
