Warhawks ready for SBC Athletics Championship

MONROE, Louisiana – The ULM track and field team opens the playoffs Thursday through Saturday at the Sun Belt Conference Championship in Lafayette.

The events will start at 9am Thursday with the start of the decathlon with the heptathlon to follow at 9.30am. Field events begin at noon and track events at 7:10 p.m. Events continue at 9 a.m. Friday and 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Coverage from all three days will be provided on ESPN+ with a link to the live results available on the Athletics Schedule page on ULMWarhawks.com.

Among the Warhawks, Keith Roberson is expected to compete in the 100 and 200 meters this weekend. He is the defending Sun Belt Conference champion in the 60s of the indoor season. The men’s 200m preliminary race is at 8:15 p.m. Thursday and the 100m is at 6:15 p.m. Friday.

First-year student Eunice Ilunga Mbuyi, the school record holder for the triple jump, will compete in both the long jump and the triple jump. The long jump is at 12:30 p.m. Friday while the triple jump follows at 2 p.m. Saturday.

Rebecca Schubertwho finished third in the SBC indoor competition in the pentathlon, will compete in the heptathlon, with events starting at 9:30 a.m. Thursday and continuing Friday.

School book holder Kimone Campbell must participate in the 800 and 4×400 relays. Preliminaries for the 800 are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Friday, while the 4×400 is scheduled for 6:55 p.m. Saturday.

First-year student Ali Eren Unlu must compete in the high jump at 2 p.m. Saturday.
