Women’s Cross Country Ranked # 26 in USTFCCCA National Poll

ROCHESTER, NY – The RIT’s women’s cross-country team rose to No.26 in the US Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division III National Poll released Wednesday.
The Tigers also jumped two spots to second in the Niagara Region poll after finishing third last Saturday at the University of Rochester Yellowjacket Invitational. RIT was Division III’s top finisher in the 18-team field, finishing ahead of Rochester, fourth and Ithaca, fifth. Division I Cornell and Buffalo finished first and second, respectively.
The highest nationally ranked RIT was 16th in the 2015 campaign. Most recently, the Tigers reached 21st in the 2019 National Rankings before placing 30th at the NCAA Division III Championships.
RIT’s current regional ranking is the highest in program history. The Tigers were placed second for a week during the 2015 season.
RIT is scheduled to end at the Mike Woods Invitational next Saturday (October 2) at the National Warplane Museum in Geneseo, NY Host Geneseo is the top ranked team in the Niagara region.
